More than 60 women showed up to show Mystics coaches and management
their basketball skills.
The WNBA league is a fiercely competitive league with only a few
spots available for women interested in the playing in the league.
Many of the women, not selected to play here in the U.S., find playing
overseas in countries such as Europe and Korea as the alternative.
While some of those who tried out wait for the next opportunity,
others will persue other career avenues.
Mystics schedule kicks off May 4th with three pre-season games.
Regular season begins May 19th at the Verizon Center when they will host Connecticut. Game time is at 6 p.m.
The WNBA All-Star Weekend will be held in Washington, D.C. at the
Verizon Center with various activities, celebrity athletes and the All-Star game on Sunday, July 15.
