Center for the Creative Arts Artist Residencies - VA
Next scheduling deadline is JAN. 15, 2010. Open to writers,
visual artists, composers, and new genres (video, film, installation, performance, conceptual art, interactive multi-media,
and related work). Studios are available for all disciplines, and include a darkroom. Admission is determined by professional
achievement or promise of achievement. Residency periods run 2 weeks to 2 months in length. Actual residency cost is $125
per week. Participants are asked to contribute according to their ability. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis,
but the next scheduling deadline is JAN. 15, 2010, for the residency period running June-Sept. 2010. Application fee: $25.

ARTS CENTER FILM SERIES: Dinner and a movie! - MD
(Dec. 19 date rescheduled due to snow) Saturdays, Dec. 12 &
19, and Jan. 9 & 16, 6 pm. Each of this year’s films depicts family relationships in different ways, sometimes funny,
other times scary, but always interesting. Again this year, dinner will be served so set aside Saturday for dinner and a movie!

modern Afghanistan. In Dari with subtitles and English. Middle Eastern food.
- Jan 9, 6 pm: Eat Drink Man Woman, 1994 (PG13) Ang Lee’s Academy
Award film is a Comedy/Drama about a father and his daughters. In Chinese with subtitles. Chinese food served.
- Jan 16, 6 pm: Kolya, 1997 (PG 13) This story of a young boy and his new
stepfather won the Academy award for best foreign film in 1997. In Czech with English subtitles. Czech food will
be served.
