We asked Mystics players,
former interim coach Jessie Kenlaw, and Mystics owner, Sheila Johnson, what they think the
Mystics team needs to win, and to be a significant playoff contender.
Sheila
Johnson, team owner.
“We need a big person, another
point guard – we need everything. We are just going to assess everything
to see what we need to do.”
Jessie
Kenlaw, former interim coach.
“We need to evaluate each position
on the team", said Kenlaw.
“There needs to be some significant
changes in personnel and I think that there has to be a good balance of experience and youth.”
"You got to have a really strong point
guard, and good consistent #5 player, a #3 that can defend."
Kenlaw stated that she was not in the
position to say at what level the changes in personnel need to be made, but further
stated, “If you want to win next season, I think you’re going to
really have to take a close look at what needs to be done.“
“I’m sure at my exit interview,
I’ll give my opinion.”
Tasha
Humphrey, Mystics center.
“We just need to regroup and fill
in the missing parts.”
[Humphrey says she plans to get better
as a basketball player, and is planning to play in Israel in the off season].
Bernice
Mosby, Mystics forward.
“This team has a lot of heart.”
“I
don’t know what we need."
"Hopefully we’ll figure it out
in the off season. It’s not for me to say. Ultimately
it’s up to the general manager, and coaches.”
[Mosby
also plans to head overseas to play basketball during the offseason.]

next….an interview with Jessie Kenlaw.
