January 5, 2009 - A very hearty welcome to ladies Sasha and Malia Obama! Welcome to DC!

 

The Obama girls checked in to Sidwell Friends school today, and caught the attention of many in the area trying to get a peek at the 'beautiful two'.

 

The Obamas are currently staying at the historic Hay-Adams Hotel near the White House.

 

When Obama arrived Sunday night, scores of people turned out to wish him well. Security in the area is high, and several streets around the hotel have been closed as a result.

 

On Jan. 15, the Obamas will move to Blair House, the official state guest house and the home residence of presidents-elect in the days leading up to inauguration.

 

President Obama wanted to move in early because of his daughters' school schedule, but the house was booked until the 15th.

Here's wishing them well in their new home, and their new school surroundings.
