Fresh off the release of their new CD, Spellbound, the LoveJoy Group, lead by vocalist, Karen LoveJoy's sultry, soulful sounds mesmerized new and old fans alike.

 

"This project took about two years to complete", Love Joy tells DC Urban LifeStyle Magazine during an interview on the magazine's radio program, Sunday Jazz WindDown.

 

"We're very pleased with it."

 

Pleased they should be, as were the patrons and friends (that included WPFW radio jazz host, Candi Shannon, and guitarist Jerry Gordon) who came out to support the group.

 

"This place should be packed', said one patron who happened upon the event by accident.

 

"I was just walking through the mall and heard the jazz", he said.

 

The LoveJoy Group, who performs an eclectic blend of traditional Jazz, Blues, and Brazilian Jazz, won a Jazz Jammie Award during the 2006 Takoma Jazz Festival.
