July 21, 2009 - Soultry songstress,
KeKe Wyatt performed at DC's
Station 9 restaurant during another segment of
R&B Live DC.
Wyatt, entertained, mesmerized, and convinced the audience of her talented vocals as she performed fan favorites and
introduced the funky, toe tapping single I'm Big and Bad' from her upcoming album.
Wyatt found moderate success in 2002 when she joined R&B singer
Avant in the remake of
My First Love, a song originally done by the 1980's duo of 'Rene
and Angela'.
Wyatt (pretty in pink) was joined on stage by
Jaguar Wright (who performed
last month) and the two made for a soulfully, powerful female duo of musical brevado.
Just when you think the music couldn't get any hotter, the event also featured the eclectic, neo/jazzy/Indie-soul stylings
of former Erykah Badu background singer, N'Dambi (which means 'most beautiful').
N'Dambi, who performed prior to Wyatt, set the tone on the evening with her brash, uninhibited, funky rhythms and engaged
the crowd while performing her singles, Deep and Call Me.
N'Dambi delivers and is definitely a musical star on the rise. One not to be missed. View her
tour dates

Special kudos to DJ 'Let Me Clear My Throat' Kool who kept the crowd entertained
during the breaks by taking us down an 80s-style musical memory lane that had a few patrons dancing in the aisles of the mostly
standing room only (if you're not there to dine) establishment.
R&B Live DC is a once-a-month get
together for anyone enjoying the flavor and style of true R&B, good food, and great company.
