Praise 104.1, the newly created gospel radio station, and brain child of media mogul, Cathy Hughes, kicked off its first annual radio-thon this week to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
St Jude’s Hospital is the world’s premier center for research, treatment of cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
The station’s
new Program Director, Matt Anderson had this to say about the radio-thon, “We are grateful to work with St. Jude and
most importantly, impact as well as save lives.”
As of 8pm Thursday
evening, the radio-thon raised nearly $180,000 (and counting).
Praise 104.1 FM, dubbed
the DC's Station for Inspiration, is home to the Yolanda Adams Morning Show,
from 6 am – 10 am weekdays, and began the radio-thon marathon, April 3rd.
