Men's, Women's Teams Defeated
January 26, 2008 - Howard University men's basketball is in desperate need of a few wins. This past Saturday's game
against the Morgan State Bears marks the third loss in a row for the young Bison team.
Down by twenty points at the
half, the Bison found themselves in an offensive quagmire, shooting only 31% percent from the field.
While seeming
to rally in the second half off consistent scoring from junior guard, Eugene Myatt (eleven points), and junior forward Randy
Hampton (sixteen points) the Bison would come within ten but the Bears answered back on each Bison scoring attempt, pulling
away and eventually winning the competition 69-51.
The Howard men's basketball team is 4-15 on the season, 1-4 in
the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Morgan State's Jamar Smith led his team in scoring with 26 points, while Marquise
Kately effectively contributed 14 points.
Morgan State's win over Howard positions the Bears 10-8, with five of six
wins in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
The Bison host Baltimore's Coppin State University, at Burr Gymnasium
January 28th at 7:00pm.
The contest will be televised nationally on ESPNU.

Howard Women's Basketball. 
The lady Bison were defeated by Morgan State, 91-48.
Howard's Shannon Carlisle led the way with 16 points, while
Morgan State led in scoring off Tamara Rogers' 17 points and 5 rebounds, followed by 16 points from team mate Corin Adams.
Howard women's basketball is 2-15 on the season and 2-3 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
