Joe
Madison, host of the The Joe Madison Show, and local activist reveals good news about a young boy in Sudanese camp.
An Sudan Update: You will recall that last March, Joe led a group of radio talk show hosts on a humanitarian mission
to Southern Sudan and Darfur. During that trip, they met a young boy named Kuot
Duo Kuot in Gok Machar. Kuot was born into slavery; his mother managed to escape
and make her way to Southern Sudan. Kuot had a deep, infected ulcer on his leg. We took him to our camp and cleaned his wound.
The only doctor in the area told us that if he did not receive medical attention soon, the infection would spread, his leg
would likely need to be amputated and without proper medical care, he would die.
Our host, John Eibner, of Christian Solidarity International, and our group contributed to make it possible for young
Kuot to receive the medical care he so badly needed. During the Thanksgiving
holiday, we received the good news that Kuot has been successfully treated and will soon be home with his family. That news
made that grueling trip very rewarding and our Thanksgiving all the more meaningful.
