COMMEMORATION WEEK HONORS THE ANCESTORS AND ADVOCATES FOR D.C. STATEHOOD (POLITICAL FREEDOM)

Celebrate with your family, friends, and neighbors as you learn D.C.'s unique history and commemorate the 148th D.C. Emancipation Week/ Day as the only state holiday in the District of Columbia!

Celebrate, April 10- 19, 2010, the History of D.C. Compensated Emancipation and learn about the First Freed.
 
Speakers, Exhibits, Parade Floats, Wreath Laying, Lectures, Contests, Singing, Re-Enactments, Poetry, Films, Forums, and More!
