High Tea In Washington, D.C.

June 11, 2006 - The HighTea Society, a not for profit organization, whose mission is to provide educational and cultural enrichment activities for young ladies who attend D.C. Public Schools, hosted its High Tea Awards and Fashion show at the George Town Four Seasons Hotel.
 
The soiree also recognized some of the most influential and prominent individuals in fashion, civil rights, politics and business; the likes of which included fabulous fashion designer Steven Burrows, and Vogue magazine's editor-at-large; also dubbed "the quintessential fashion guru", Andre Leon Talley. 
 
Civil rights pioneer,  Dr. Dorothy Height; and the Honorable Judge Mary Terrell; along with author, and Georgetown business owner and proprietor of fine collectible items, Ms. Darlene Mathis were also honored.
 
The young ladies of the Society, for which the organization was formed, participates in several community projects throughout the year.
