For every woman forty, and over, Deron Cloud’s
stage play, She’s Fabulously 40 and Over is for you!
Never before has there been a platform that
addresses the challenges women face being over forty in such a comedic, yet real life perspective.
From having grown children, to facing menopause, to dating, and more, all unfold with music that parodies
today’s hit favorites and a few oldies, but goodies.
When talking about menopause, you’ll find
yourself dancing in your seat as a cast member mimics rapper, Mim’s song, This Is Why I’m Hot!
The play isn’t just for women over 40, however. Cast member, Monique Caldwell, 35, who plays the vivacious granny with the awesome
dance moves, says she’s looking forward to turning forty.
“It gives me insight into what I have
to look forward to.”
Cast member, Toni Cooper, says turning forty means
not having to be concerned about what people think, and also having the freedom to say what’s on your mind.
“I like not having to get the approval of
others”, says Cooper.
Deron Cloud, minister and playwright, says
all he had to do was look at women in his congregation to understand them. “Seeing the women in our church go through the things they go through was the
inspiration for the play”, said Cloud.
“I also see what my own wife goes through.”
Deron wrote the play and debuted it within weeks
after being hospitalized with an aneurism in his leg.
It’s now running in its third straight weekend,
playing this Saturday (8 pm) and Sunday (6 pm).
The play, with an all-female cast, appreciated
by both sexes, is now casting for its upcoming Atlanta, Georgia performance. There
are talks about the play touring other cities in the future.
To purchase tickets for this weekend’s encore
performance, and to see other items in the Deron Cloud repertoire of stage plays and more, see www.thesoulfactory.com, or visit www.ticketweb.com.
She’s Fabulously 40 and Over, the hit
musical stage play, reminds us all that no matter the age, when it’s all said and done, life is about loving yourself
for who you are.
