Dr. Biden seen here at White House Military Tea for Women Soldiers

January 7, 2009 - Dr. Jill Biden will serve as commencement speaker at the University of Delaware's Winter Commencement ceremonies, scheduled at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday, January 9, in Newark, Delaware. 

Dr. Biden, an educator of 29 years, has taught English in community colleges for the past 16 years and continues to teach English courses at a DC-area community college.  She earned her doctorate in education at the University of Delaware, and it was awarded at the Winter Commencement ceremony in 2007.

The University of Delaware, one of the oldest universities in the nation and the largest in the state of Delaware, awards diplomas at its annual winter ceremony to students who complete their degree requirements in August or December.  

Dr. Biden will address graduates, family members, and faculty in the Bob Carpenter Sports Convocation Center.
