September 25, 2008 - Along with the
author’s pavilion, and exhibitor’s showcase, Day 2 of the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference
saw Thursday beginning with an Economic Empowerment Breakfast, followed later in the day with National Town Hall Meeting
on the foreclosure crisis which addressed reasons, repercussions, and real solutions.
Several brain trusts took place that
covered issues such as media control, the digital era, educational disparities, the global food
and water crisis, and a discussion on Veterans that focused on the current plight of American
veterans.
The evening ended in fine celebratory
fashion with a gospel extravaganza, jazz concert (featuring Wallace Rooney), and a CBC Chair’s reception
featuring the father of Go-Go, Chuck Brown that saw the likes of Al Sharpton, Warren Ballentine, Judge Craig
Strong.
An All Black Party at Ibiza Night Club featured R&B artists Raheem DeVaugh, and Chrisette Michele, along
with jazz artist, Mike Phillips.
