May 8, 2008 - Barack Obama held a fundraiser last evening at the Columbia Union restaurant at Union Station.
Hundreds of Obama supporters came out to the $1,000 a-plate event in hopes of getting an up close and personal view of
America's next president.
"He's just so down to earth", said one attendee.
Apparently, the Obama campaign was sympathetic to those not having the entire amount to attend the fundraiser.
One supporter reported that because she had donated on line in the past, she was told she could attend the event in lieu
of having the full amount required.
Aw, how nice!
The event, which was supposed to have started at 5pm, saw supporters in line, waiting to get in, way past the proposed
7pm event end time.
It was reported that the Senator didn't arrive until about 7:15 pm. However, before it was over all those standing in
line made it inside to hear, and see, Obama.

"He spoke about health care, and education, and he was just soooo good", another attendee tells DC Urban LifeStyle
Magazine.
"He told us that he needs our support now, and he'll need our support in November", said other attendee.
Seen at the fundraiser were Congressman
Elijah Cummings, and Congressman for Mississippi's Second District
and
Homeland Security Committee member,
Bennie Thompson.
On Saturday, May 10, 2008 Obama Delegates Kwame Brown and Harry Thomas, Jr. will kick off a voter registration drive
